Whim by CivicIQ

Find something worth doing tonight in a few minutes, not forty tabs.

Whim is a consumer app for local discovery. It helps you move from “we should do something” to a real plan by surfacing attendable nearby events that fit your taste, timing, and mood.

Whim is the product. CivicIQ is the company behind it. We are keeping that relationship light on the site because the important thing for testers is simple: understand the app fast, try it on a phone, and tell us if it earns a spot in real life.

  • Real local events with enough context to decide quickly
  • Short-session discovery built for actual nights out
  • Beta release first, then a wider city-by-city rollout

What Whim is

A mobile app for discovering local events that are actually attendable, relevant, and worth considering right now.

Why we built it

Because most event discovery feels bloated, stale, and generic. We wanted something that feels fast, selective, and useful in a short planning session.

Where CivicIQ fits

CivicIQ is the company building Whim. This site exists to explain the beta release, manage invites, and support testers while access is still limited.

How it works

Open Whim when you want a plan, not a project.

The app is designed for short, real sessions: open it, scan a tight set of event cards, save what looks good, and move on with your night.

What we need next

Make the product more visible on the page itself.

The highest-value website upgrade now is replacing the illustrative hero card with two or three actual app screenshots, then layering in a short product demo once the beta flow is stable.

Beta release

Request an invite to the beta release.

The first beta is intentionally small. We are inviting real people who want to use the app, push on it, and tell us what feels magical versus what still needs work. Invites are reviewed and sent in small batches as access opens up.
